November 3rd, 2016, an astonishing challenge happened at Nürburgring Nordschleife Germany. Han Yue, Chinese race driver, created the record of the Fastest side wheelie lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. With the witness of German and Chinese fans, under the focus of cameras of Chinese medias and offical medias from Nürburgring, Han Yue finally finished the lap in 45 minutes. This is the first lap time of stunt driving at Nürburgring Nordschleife, the most challenging and longest track of the world with 20.832km, 73 turns, 300m altitude difference, the Green Hell. This record is marked in the history of Nürburgring, and this is the first time a Chinese driver got an official lap time at Nürburgring Nordschleife.

As is well-known, to drive a race car at Nürburgring Nordschleife is an extreme challenge, not to speak of a side wheelie lap. After nearly half a year testing and training in China, the mechanical problems of the car, the problem of tyre for side wheel driving for 20km, the problem of physical ability were solved. Then it was ready to tranport the MINI to Nürburgring.

The day November 3rd, because of the rain of last night, that track was wet and slippery. When the goes out of the shadow, the sunlight hurts his eyes. Han Yue has to focus more and spend more strength to handle the car uphill and downhill. There was more than 10km he got illusion, “The ground started to incline, now it’s getting back”, said Han Yue after the challenge.

Because of too much strength for handlling the car, Han Yue got muscle cramp 12km from the start line. Thanks for the experience of physical training before, Han Yue tried twisting his body to different angles to get through the suffering. The hardest ones are uphill right corners, he can not see anything in the front but have to accelerate to the top. When he saw the straight line after the last corner, even relaxed a little bit, with the hails from the fans, he had to focus and drive carefully to the finish line. The fans threw him up high, Han Yue stood on the top of the car with a floating Chinese national flag.

After the challenge, invited by Nürburgring museum, the car for the challenge was put in the very middle of Nürburgring museum. This is also the first time the race car of a Chinese race driver demenstrating in Nürburgring museum. The name of Han Yue and China were showing to the world, this will be remembered by history.
